A partial is a removable dental appliance used when a patient is missing many teeth but still has plenty of good teeth left. There are two types of partials:
-metal based partial
-valplast plastic based partial
-WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A METAL-BASED PARTIAL AND A VALPLAST PARTIAL?
-Metal Based Partial: has metal clasps that hook on to the existing natural teeth, very strong because of the metal substructure, has been the partial of choice for many years
-Valplast Plastic Based Partial: has gum colored hooks, thus this partial is barely noticeable, is flexible and more comfortable, yet is considered more fragile than a metal based partial |
